]]> Interior Packaging Design designed these custom reusable layer pads for use in the motorcycle industry. The layer pads are constructed of a combination of cross-linked polyethylene foam and corrugated plastic. The plastic tray bases were cut on our flatbed die cutter, while the custom designed foam sections were cut on our water jet cutter. Our ability to make angled cuts using our water jet cutting machine expands the possibilities for layer pad designs and in this instance, allowed us to increase the part density in the storage container.
The pad is 22.1250″ x 14.3125″ x 8.5800″ and designed to fit inside a stock storage container. Finished tray pads underwent dimensional and visual inspection according to our SPC checks and quality manual. We produced 100 of these containers with a turnaround time of only three weeks. All of our projects are custom designed and fabricated for specific customer applications with very fast response times. Samples are typically available only a few days after the design is discussed and full scale production runs generally take four weeks or less. This side loading divider set was manufactured for a customer in the motorcycle industry. This system not only provides storage that protects the surface finish of the parts, when it is time for assembly, it becomes an efficient workstation. All of the parts are ready and accessible to the operator without requiring any laborious bending and reaching.
The 28.750″ x 27.000″ x 26.625″ lightweight storage system is constructed of corrugated plastic. The edges are lined with vinyl tape for increased durability during handling. We die cut and assembled 100 of these divider sets with a lead time of 5 weeks. By allowing us to create a custom divider set, the customer received a durable, lightweight, storage and assembly solution that was less expensive and more efficient than available off the shelf systems. ]]> Interior Packaging Design can produce custom foam dunnage up to 5″ thick for use in a variety of industries. This polyethylene foam cell dunnage was designed and manufactured for a customer in the automotive industry. The cross-linked polyethylene foam was cut on our water jet cutting machine to nominal tolerances of .125″. Plastic corrugated trays were die cut to serve as the base of the dunnage. After the individual pieces were cut and trimmed, the foam insert was glued to the corrugated trays.
Upon completion, dunnage was inspected according to our SPC check and quality control protocols. We produced 4,295 of these four-cell trays with a total lead time of six weeks. Our water jet cutting capability allows us to cut intricate and custom shapes into materials to create custom dunnage without the high tooling costs or long lead times associated with traditional die cutting methods. Samples are often available in only a few days, and full production orders can often be delivered within four weeks. This die cut corrugated cell pad is used to efficiently store and transfer parts in the injection molding industry. The insert is 21.375″ x 13.125″ x 4.620″, and designed to fit into a stock storage bin. Custom cut trays and pads are an excellent cost-effective way to ensure that parts are effectively stored to prevent damage. The minimal cost of these inserts is often quickly offset by increases in efficiency and reduction of part damage.
Trays or inserts can be cut in any shape or size to turn stock material handling bins into custom containers. For this project, we produced 2,225 of these cells pads with a turnaround time of 4 weeks. ]]> Interior Packaging Design designed and fabricated this custom reusable sleeve pack, with a pallet and top pack, for a customer in the agricultural industry. Our sleeve packs offer a high load bearing capacity and can be collapsed for compact storage when not in use. This sleeve pack is made of die cut corrugated plastic and measures 47.75″ x 44.75″ x 63″ when assembled. The plastic is heat sealed and joints were drilled and riveted to create a strong, durable container. Nominal dimensional tolerances of .125″ were met and all packaging was inspected according to our internal quality management system.
This sleeve pack was designed with a drop down flap to meet the customer’s specific application. We can manufacture a variety of sleeve packs in custom configurations designed for a wide range of industries. Due to our very fast response and turnaround times, customers can often have custom packaging delivered just as quickly as standard containers. This tote is 21.00″ x 21.00″ x 27.01″, with a stacking rail around the perimeter and interior corrugated plastic dividers. The corrugated plastic was cut on our flatbed die cutter to nominal dimensional tolerances of .125″. The custom sheets were heat sealed and the tote was completely assembled.
These stacking containers with custom dividers are a great size for operators to move individually, but are also capable of being stacked efficiently on a standard sized pallet.
